Spirit Ward Dragons are a special breed that ward off evil spirits—at least, that’s what the legends say. During nighttime festivals, people love to see these dragons, because they believe that the dragons guard against evil spirits. The dragons are dark-colored, but glow with a flame-colored internal light that has an intensity that they control.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Lady Whisper vonValon was one of the three firstborns of her clan, growing up alongside Lady Hookblood and the High Lord Atlanticus. As a quiet and sneaky creature, she lives up to her species' lore quite literally by becoming the Guard Master of her clan- specifically during the night- and works closely with Lady Hookblood (the Warrior Master) to protect her subjects. She uses her dark scales and luminescent abilities to her advantage, living a mostly nocturnal life with her guards to watch over the cavern entrance after dark; since it's hard to see her scales against the shadows, she often uses her bio-luminescence to show others she's there, though also likes to light herself up brightly and suddenly to startle intruders or intimidate adversaries.

During the day, she tends to sleep deep in the darkness of the cave. Every evening, she consults with Lady Hookblood to oversee the guards and warriors.
