Antarean Dragons are peaceful creatures shrouded in mystery. They are primarily found in the desert where they get most of their energy from sunbathing. Their most notable traits are their highly reflective manes and the mysterious light emitted by their scales which fades from bright, nearly blinding yellow-white into dim red as the dragons get older. Legend claims that they are otherworldly beings that came to this world when a meteor struck.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Cressida is a gentle dragon who was found in the crater made by the impact of a great meteor. It is unknown whether she was brought from another world with the meteor, or whether her hatchling self had simply fallen in, craving warmth. Her parents were nowhere to be found for miles of the crater, and so she was taken into the clan by Lightwing.

She often can be found atop the highest area on the mountain, somehow managing to sunbathe despite the snow fluttering around her. Other times she will be found in the Eastern forest of the Rhynelands, looking for her hatchlings that had once wandered off during a snow storm a few years prior. Since the loss, she has abandoned her mate and now resides in her own branch of the cave.
