Sophrosyne Dragons are a rare sight, typically making themselves known only to protect and heal the vulnerable. A visit from one serves as a reminder that kindness prevails, and that there’s always hope for positive change. While it is known that they possess the power to reverse botched spells, some claim they can even cure methodically-cast curses. This has never been formally documented, but these dragons have been seen arriving in the aftermath of violence, and the scars of tragedy seem to heal faster in their wake. The feathers of a Sophrosyne have thus become a symbol of perseverance and light in the face of darkness.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
Most often seen chasing after rain clouds, this dragon finds few things more satisfying than plunging through one, mist and cold water rushing across his scales as he experiences the thrill of the drop. Such encounters have earned him the ire of gray dragons more than once (apparently they don't like people touching their clouds), but a combination of cheekiness and wit usually see him safely out of their clutches. It was during one of the rare occasions where tricks didn't save him that he met his mate, a soulpeace who despite her timidity managed to charm his captor into releasing him, and was quite traumatized about the whole thing after. The two are now inseparable, Akita cheerfully leading his wife on adventures and taking care to never let his actions put her in peril again.
