Antarean Dragons are peaceful creatures shrouded in mystery. They are primarily found in the desert where they get most of their energy from sunbathing. Their most notable traits are their highly reflective manes and the mysterious light emitted by their scales which fades from bright, nearly blinding yellow-white into dim red as the dragons get older. Legend claims that they are otherworldly beings that came to this world when a meteor struck.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

This poor dragon hardly looks like the stuff of legend anymore- more like a bird with molt, really. He was raised above the castle as a hatchling, where many would be in awe at his appearance. However, when he was an adolescent, he was dragged into the dungeons, never to see the world above again. His feathers, scales, and mane were all plucked and cut, every part of him scrutinized and examined by the Castle Master. The worst part, perhaps, was that it was all for naught, as the human seemed greatly disappointed, and has left him there to rot.
