This breed of dragon was thought to exist only in legend. Although their name varies between cultures, they are often referred to as “Guardians of Nature.” They are able to channel the forces of fire, ice and lightning, which allows them to wield tremendous power. Seen very rarely, it is thought that they only become active when something is threatening the territory they have chosen to guard. In order to protect their chosen home, these dragons are incredibly adaptable; they have been seen everywhere from remote mountain ranges, to ancient forests, to the darkest depths of the ocean.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

On the night this dragon was summoned, a rare astronomical event took place. Both of Valkemare's moons, Aurax and Cirion, were high in the sky as the Trio gathered. Sosul'ka the Ice dragon, leader of the summoning, took up her song as the others poured power into the call. Overhead, the two moons slowly began to pass through the edge of Valkemare's shadow in a strange double eclipse. Aurax began to turn a reddish color as it entered the shadow, followed closely by Cirion. As the red distortion fell across both moons, Sosul'ka's song reached its height, and the Trio let out a roar of triumph. In the middle of their circle rested a large egg the color of blue Cirion, glowing faintly in the light.

The egg hatched and grew into a True Guardian of great power. Some say she is the Keeper's close companion; others say she is the Keeper herself in dragon form. Whatever the case, her power is unmatched by even the other True Guardians of her Cave.
