Cheese Dragons are not actually alive. They are enchanted items of food that act almost identically to dragons. They have no need to eat, but they must “live” in humid environments or they will dry out and harden.

My egg smells like cheese is not very smart and often tries to venture off into hot places where there are fewer people, though it's owner tried hard to keep it safe. Luckily, it tends to stay put when more cheese dragons are present. It hates seeing cheese on the menu. It thinks it's a real dragon and often tries to seek out more of its kind in the Alpine, hoping for a mate even though it cannot reproduce.
