Nebula Dragons are nocturnal creatures. With the best eyesight to be found, they are often seen staring into space. Each dragon tends to observe a particular nebula and will eventually change their colors and patterns to match it. As the nebula changes over time, the dragon changes with it. The more intricate the design of the nebula, the better chance an individual has of attracting a mate. It is said that the markings on no two Nebula Dragons will be exactly the same.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Twinkle from the Wise Owl is a quiet, gifted being. Like most Nebula dragons, Twinkle has a unique pattern on her wings, but what's different about hers is it includes sprinkles of violet around the center. This makes her stand out from the rest of her species, and some dragons think it is entirely unpleasant to look at, and don't want to be near her. She usually is found gazing at the night sky above, and once you locate her, she blinks at you and soars up into the twilight, not seen until the next day. Some think that Twinkle does this because she is afraid that they will gossip about her. But regardless of whether this is true or not, Twinkle adores hatchlings. Whenever she sees one, she goes up to it and inspects it, deciding if she is fond of it or not. If she does like it, then she flies it around to quiz it and see what it knows. On the other hand, if she dislikes it, she backs away, flying away to another cave. Twinkle is an exquisite reptile, considering she is one of a kind.
