Skywing Dragons spend most of their lives flying in the air. They hunt from the air, diving at prey from above, and land only to rest. They are some of the fastest fliers, capable of extremely high speeds. The webbing at the end of the tail acts as a rudder, allowing them to easily change direction during flight.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Aeroix, as the omega, or lowest ranking dragon, spends a lot of time trying to please his higher-ups. Shy and quiet, Aero is constantly searching for refuge from Alkin, who likes bullying the poor Skywing. This draco is in good graces with Orrin and Rion, and is always welcome with Aiithne and Darmaco, yet he spends most of his time with Vidomina. She acts as a repellant to Alkin and allows Aeroix to accompany her in lengthy flights and long, silent hours in the cave; however, they show no interest in one another beyond a platonic friendship.
