Silver Dragons are arguably one of the most beautiful types of dragons. They live in high altitude habitats such as mountains. Silver females eat meat only when a male dragon brings it to them as part of courtship, though they are typically highly-independent. They possess an almost magical aura that lights up any place they are in, and are looked upon with awe by humans and animals alike.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

When Romana (also occasionally known as Fred) first met the nameless Whiptail in his aimless travels through Valkemare, she was young and full of herself despite her inexperience but she took a liking to the dragon and decided she would go along with him to keep him out of trouble. Secretly she was bored of reading about adventures and wanted to actually go on one.

The two quickly became close friends, and Romana learned to lighten up and have fun every once and a while, rather than being so by-the-book. But incoming conflict ruined the relationship they so treasured. Romana, a respected individual among her clan, became its leader and was charged with defending her clanmates from a war that threatened to destroy them all. She came to outwardly despise the Whiptail for his refusal to act on their clan's behalf, but it deeply pained her to drive him away. She still cares about him, but no matter how badly she wishes things were different, the safety of her clan must come first.
