Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Steel is loyal, noble, and quite chaste. Unfortunately, the ladies he always seems to draw to himself are not so! Too naive (or perhaps simply too trusting) to see the worst in anyone, he's set himself up for heartbreak a number of times--only to be unwittingly saved, over and over again, by his far shrewder sister. For the sake of sparing him additional heartbreak, however, she never tells him of her exploits, leaving him to sadly believe he's just bored away one female after another. Perhaps this is for the best; while he's far too kind to even debate bringing the types of vengeance he uses on criminals down on anyone else, perhaps some of his sister's taste for ex-directed karma would manifest in him if given the chance!
