Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It glows with some form of arcane energy.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Shaylam is a hatchling that Ajan, another magi dragon, took interest of, even though she wasn't his kin. He casted a spell on her so she'll never grow, and never leave his side. It's unknown why he did so, but the dragon doesn't mind being young forever. She's carefree and playful and is the only one that can annoy Ajan without getting hurt. Other dragons she tends to be a bit shy around but she can be friendly once she warms up to them. She's also charming in her own way and can get what she wants, when she wants. So Shaylam's a bit spoiled that way.
