Silver Dragons are arguably one of the most beautiful types of dragons. They live in high altitude habitats such as mountains. Silver females eat meat only when a male dragon brings it to them as part of courtship, though they are typically highly-independent. They possess an almost magical aura that lights up any place they are in, and are looked upon with awe by humans and animals alike.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The egg that Silinya formed in was laid on the eight day of the first month of the year. It was bitterly cold; her mother realised that the egg was weak and abandoned it. A man called Isildion found it. He, at first, believed it to be silver ore and it was precious to him, for he was terribly poor. But the moment his hand touched it, he realised that it was warm! His disappointment turned to affection. He looked at the egg as though it was a gift from the Moon God, Isil. He kept the egg warm amidst fire. The egg proved lucky for Isildion for his material prospects grew! Though he noticed the egg itself seemed dull at times, and he feared for its life. It hatched months later. The dragon hatchling looked at him soulfully. As their minds touched he realised she was female. So he called her Silinya: Silver Female, in his own tongue. He cared for her and within two years, she came to her full stature. In time, she wandered off to find a mate. But returned soon—for Isildion needed her...
