Stone Dragons have a tough outer covering made of a stone-like material. They eat rocks, using the minerals they contain for nourishment and to keep up their stone outer shell. They rarely move, and are the heaviest of all types of dragons. Although they have wings, indicating flight ability, no one has ever seen a stone dragon flying.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Urrarock is a dragon with a problem.  She is a stone dragon and as such cannot fly.  However currently, all her clutch mates can, and she is convinced that she is just the same as the other dragons that hatched at the same time as her.

When all the other youngsters started to grow in their wings, hers did too.  The others started to practice their flying skills and of course, so did she.  However no matter how hard she tried, she was unable to fly.  Leaping off a high ledge she would extend her wings and gracefully sink to the ground with an almighty thud.

All the other dragons would look at her and shake their heads, roll their eyes and say, "You are a rock".  The name stuck and to this day, this female stone dragon has been known as Urrarock.
