Originating from a single species that thrived in ancient times, Xenowyrms have become an incredibly diverse breed whose appearances vary depending on their habitats. Each Xenowyrm subspecies is heavily reliant on the power of different types of mana, making them powerful magic users. Astrapi are easily the most temperamental of all Xenowyrm subspecies. Their unpredictable behavior—coupled with their masterful control of lightning magic—has the potential for devastating results. Most of their time is spent airborne, flying through the skies or circling mountainsides for prey.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Sharppai lived in a cold, snow-laden mountain range. She lived on the peak of the highest mountain, in the midst of the storm clouds that charged her powers. It also charged her 'parents'. Her actual parents disappeared before she'd even hatched, and new parents, a Thunder and Astrapi, took her in. What she didn't realise was that her adoptive parents were battle hungry and greedy. They were using her for power over the mountains and Sharppai wanted none of it. She destroyed the mana crystal that had been charging her parents energy, resulting in an attempted murder from them. She'd had to run, run as far as she could and not turn back.

Now she lives in a new alpine called the Everlasting-Snow Peaks where winter seasonal dragons work with other dragons magic to make the area winter forever. She has many friends there that care for her with much more love than her 'parents' ever showed!
