Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. A solitary dragon lies alone in a forest clearing. For 147 years, she has been reliving her horrific past, the story going over and over in her mind. It all started with the hunters. They attacked this dragon's colony whilst she was only a hatchling. Many dragons escaped, but her parents were killed. She was left, alone on a clifftop, until a solitary human, unlike any other that she had seen, picked her up. She knows him only as TheGrox, and he took her and brought her up as his own. TheGrox discovered much about her ancestors, and their wealth and importance. They were the Dorkfaces. But now, her ancestral importance torn from her, she is forced to live a solitary life. TheGrox has tried tirelessly to find her a mate, but for all his trying, she has refused to ever produce a golden egg.
