Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It enjoys swimming in a nearby pond.

And look! Its fins and tail have gotten bigger, and you’ve moved it to a larger body of water to swim in. It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Lil' Puddles was rejected by his mother when he was small for seemingly no reason. Evoli froze him in time as a hatchling and kept him as a pet. He is always cheerful, being a hatchling, especially one raised by a human. He's the exact opposite of Shiima (a White dragon also in Voli's care) in personality, but they get along well enough. Since he lives in Evoli's house, where there's no way to make a place for him to swim, he has gotten used to wobbling around on his tiny legs instead. He does not move gracefully, and untold numbers of assorted fragile items have fallen victim to this fact. At least he can walk at all. Any older, and he wouldn't have use of them anymore.
