Failed attempts to experiment with magic often result in transforming dragons into these hellish creatures. They are extremely dangerous, and will mindlessly kill any living creature without regard to friend or foe.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Once upon a time, this was a Magi Dragon, son of a Magi and a Gold Dragon. Like all Magis he was well versed in all kinds of magic, but he also dabbled in alchemy—that ancient science of trying to turn things into gold and creating the elixir of life. Why a creature with a nearly unlimited life span would want an elixir of life is unknown, but this one mainly focused on the attempt to turn himself into gold, hoping to become a Gold Dragon. Needless to say, it went horribly, dreadfully wrong. One starless night, he turned himself not into gold but into a hellish member of the undead, a Zombie Dragon. That night his mind became as rotten as his body; and now, instead of racking his brains over scientific problems, he prowls the dark recesses of the cave, looking for brains to eat.
