Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Wolfsbane Dorkface hails from a forgotten branch of the Dorkface Lineage. His mother, a young mint dragon, was the first to regain her title after several generations of her ancestors' lost heritage. The vampire that sired him and one of his fathers is the bard, Rune Essence.

Wolfsbane is still not sure where he belongs. As a hatchling, Daydreamer09 told him that soon he would have a new family. Eventually however, "Soon" became days, and then weeks. In the end, Wolfsbane was not wanted anymore by his new family. He had become forgotten with the discovery of the midwinter dragons, and their nest was too full to accept another member. So, Wolfsbane lost his purpose and was no longer needed.

Kindly, Daydreamer09 allowed him to stay in her cave and live alongside his mother and fathers. However, he would often look longingly outside from the cave entrance.
