Fire Gem Dragons are a colorful, flamboyant breed often found in hot climates, particularly around active volcanoes. Their broad tails store the flames they breathe, which are colored by the heavy amount of minerals in the water they drink. These dragons come in a variety of colors, and will collect shiny trinkets and stones that match their own coloration. Despite their hoarding tendencies, though, Fire Gem dragons are social and will often congregate in groups and show off their collections while fawning over the stones their friends and rivals have gathered, occasionally arranging trades.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Naijes is the Deputy of the Fire Gem Dragon Clan and of her respective Tribe, the Blue Gem Tribe. She clashes often with the Clan's prideful Grand King, Arlamir. Naijes is willing to listen to the desires of dragons of all tribes, unlike her King. She tries her best to communicate these desires to Arlamir, but he doesn't seem to listen. Naijes often wonders why he made her his Deputy if he is never going to listen to her advice. Nevertheless, she continues to try her best to work with Arlamir when she must. Unlike most members of the Blue Gem Tribe, Naijes does not consider herself to be above the other Fire Gem Tribes, making her quite popular with the Red and Green Gem Tribes- not so much with her own Tribe. Naijes enjoys her duties as a member of the Barrier Legion more than her duties as a deputy. She claims to enjoy flying around the Skadrian Islands to ensure the magic barrier remains unbroken. She says it gives her peace of mind, and the chance to explore the Islands.
