Silver Dragons are arguably one of the most beautiful types of dragons. They live in high altitude habitats such as mountains. Male Silvers hunt and eat meat. While not as beautiful or radiant as females, silver males possess better physical attributes, such as strength.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

With his mother's gentle disposition and a tendency to make light of things, Kezariel seems to--at last--have broken the black legacy begun by his grandfather. Intelligent, kind, quick to help others in his own playful fashion--such traits make it difficult even for those who know better to believe the truth. For while much of his behavior is no facade, there is a hidden steel beneath the softness, Kezariel believing firmly that he is both entitled to the world and that it would be much better off beneath his guidance. To this end he has long manipulated the strings of human and draconic politics alike, gaining the power and prestige by which he hopes to someday make his claim to godhood.
