Sophrosyne Dragons are a rare sight, typically making themselves known only to protect and heal the vulnerable. A visit from one serves as a reminder that kindness prevails, and that there’s always hope for positive change. While it is known that they possess the power to reverse botched spells, some claim they can even cure methodically-cast curses. This has never been formally documented, but these dragons have been seen arriving in the aftermath of violence, and the scars of tragedy seem to heal faster in their wake. The feathers of a Sophrosyne have thus become a symbol of perseverance and light in the face of darkness.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

The hybridization of white and daydream dragons is well documented among those individuals who have taken human companions, but such occurrences are far rarer in the wild--so rare, in fact, that for many centuries they were believed not to exist at all. Thus quite an uproar occurred when one such male was observed, living deep in the wilderness. While all attempts to approach him fail, one of his sons is far more sociable, often not only greeting the curious but accompanying them back to their homes to learn more of the world around him. Kindly and gentle, the young dragon is also very devout, having learned of faith from a traveling priest. His affectionate nature and pure heart have earned him no shortage of friends (and many gawkers besides--his ancestry has made him rather famous), but not all would do him good; some believe the feathers of such a dragon must hold an even more potent magic than those from tamer members of his breed, and will stop at nothing to get hold of him.
