Feisty and energetic, Whiptail Dragons pride themselves on their speed and agility. It is not unusual to see several whiptails racing each other. Though fragile, they can easily evade attacks with their superior speed, and often use their long tails as a weapon, giving rise to their name.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

A high-ranking fighter within the ranks of the plains natives, this dragon is the personal companion of the tribe's chief, has been with him since childhood. Accordingly the two are very close and thus the dragon is equally protective of the rest of the group his human rules over.

The dragon's name is derived from his preferred method of attack, in which he leaps into the sky and then comes slamming down into his opponent with all four limbs extended, claws flashing, and head poised to bite; the manner of attacking with his feet from above cries of the hawk, and the almost beautiful way he strikes is remnant of a fatal kiss.
