Green Dragons are also sometimes called “earth” dragons. They usually live deep within caves, and have power over the earth. They are capable of launching boulders at high speeds, and can cause earthquakes by slamming down onto the ground.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Vamont is highly obsessive compulsive and will spend ages arranging rocks and boulders to meet his exact requirements. The sound of stone being dragged across the cave floor in the early hours of the morning repeatedly results in one of the other dragons attempting to throttle him in a sleepy stupor.

Even the most forgiving of dragons get a little annoyed when their favourite sunning spot has been rearranged overnight, the rocks no longer conforming to the shape of their bodies. The silver dragons have also threatened that should he invade their snowy mountaintop again, they will not be responsible for their actions.

The only thing that can distract him from his frequent organising is listening to the birdsong. The first thing he does every morning is go outside in order to hear the morning chorus. Even if he has spent all night working, he will drop everything to sit and listen to the singing in awe.
