Script Dragons are named for the markings along their wings and sides that look almost like calligraphy. The patterns correspond to no known language, and are slightly different on every dragon. These dragons only develop the characteristic markings when they reach maturity, and they are fairly capable with magic once the patterns appear.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

What started as a support group for non-zyumorph children of sinomorph and zyumorph parents soon grew into a team of would-be heroes. The members never stop arguing, nobody can agree on a name, and the "villains" they face are all largely playacting, but the group still strives to make its mark on the world. Vexik is the resident pain-in-the-neck, at least where Meisk is concerned. Rarely serious, she's always ready with a clever quip or joke during meetings or when out on a mission. The whole hero business seems to be just a game to her. Meisk suspects she may be passing information to their enemies so that her fun game need never end.
