Welcome to Dragon Cave! Dragon Cave is an online adoptables game. Collect eggs, raise them to adulthood, and then breed them to create interesting lineages. New dragons are added regularly!
Wary of all strangers, the elusive Amalthean Dragons cloak themselves in mist to avoid detection. The water sources they live near are astonishingly clear and pure, and have been found to contain medicinal properties. These dragons are known for their ability to cure any disease, wound, or poison, as well as the purification of any water they come across. A blessing from an Amalthean Dragon is said to increase longevity, though they are very selective of who they will heal. An Amalthean’s horn grows from the same wood as a White Dragon’s staff and is highly sought after for its ability to channel and store potent life magic.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
Even compared to the other Amalthean dragons of the Val'Direan City, Purestream is a solitary creature. Other than his mate and their hatchlings, he keeps to his duties purifying and protecting the streams and springs of the sloping mountain foothills.
The Val'Direan Mountain is home to the largest of the three Cities of Snow and Cloud, an alliance of three different dragon cities working together to keep their settlements hidden in the clouds and peaks of tall mountains across the continent. Val'Direa Peak is the tallest of a northern mountain range that splits the tundra, and the Val'Direan River is fed by most of the smaller rivers and streams of the rest of the continent on its journey across the hostile Weyr of Flame to the sea. Purestream believes it his duty to keep the River clean and unstained by violence for all of those dragons who live under the tyranny of the Weyr of Flame. The Val'Direan River may be fouled by blood later, but at least from its mouth, the water is pure.
