Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow brightly at night, and it enjoys attacking insects and small animals.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

When Pink came across a lost black Hatchling in the wild, she had cackled gleefully at her luck. This was no ordinary hatchling; it was a Dorkface! She knew that this particular dragon clan was fierce and commanded a much larger force than she did.

Despite this, she immediately put a spell over the hatchling to freeze him forever in his youthful frame and gave him a name that would probably cause the Dorkface clan to become quite resentful towards her.

Since that fateful day Dorkface of Evil has lived happily amongst his new cavemates, and has found and befriended several distant relatives of his. He bonded well with the other black hatchlings and they fight constantly, like black dragons will.
