When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Aquarol was abandoned as an egg, and was taken and raised by a kind-hearted soul. Aquarol is a roamer of the ocean, returning to her owner only once every three weeks. these visits last for one week, where Aquarol enjoys time in the presence of her master. She is still free, and earns the respect of many around her. She appears rarely to other people and prefers to search the seafloor, rising only to reward the pure of heart when sensed, or to purify those with no hope of cleaning their own soul. Aquarol most enjoys searching for treasure on the seafloor, giving small amounts to her master, and great amounts to those who are of pure heart and few possessions. She is sometimes mistaken as a spirit of generosity. Her hide glistens when the sun shines upon it, and can cause drops of water upon it to produce rainbows.
