Daydream Dragons are the hosts of daydreams and fantasies. They spend the majority of their time sitting on clouds, dropping daydreams down into the minds of people passing by. Humans who live near Daydream Dragons must be especially careful not to let their thoughts wander, or they could end up spending hours or even days in a trance-like waking dream state.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Blue Star is a small, pretty Daydream Dragon. Her left front foot is permanently injured, so she flies way more than she walks. She has a dark patch of scales on her forehead in the shape of a star, from which she was named. Blue and her mate, Dare to Dream, had known each other since they were hatchlings, but were never very close. As they grew older, Blue began to crush on Dare to Dream, but sadly, her feelings weren't shared. Blue tried to spend more time with him, but they actually were growing farther apart. One day, a forest fire swept through the woodland where the two dragons lived, and Dare to Dream was trapped in his den. Blue could have escaped, but using her talent for flying, she rushed in to save him. Just as they were about to escape, a rock fell from the cave roof, permanently injuring Blue. After they escaped, Dare to Dream realized how much Blue cared for him, risking her life like that. They now have a family of their own and live together in that same forest.
