Sunbeam Drakes are the diurnal counterparts to Moonglow Drakes, their eggs having been laid during the daylight hours. They are around the size of a small dog, and while docile, can be flighty and easily startled. Most can be found high in treetops enjoying the bright sunlight, tucking themselves away at the first sign of a storm or impending nightfall. Sunbeam Drakes enjoy flying in the light of the sun, and their treetop dances are beautiful, dazzling, and serene.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

User Description

Centocihuatl is a Day Glory Drake. Overtly friendly and very cheerful, this little Drake shares a particularly close (and rather strange) bond with birds, a trait that has followed him from hatchlinghood. The local birds in turn consider him a part of their flock, and the surreal sight of a predator happily mingling with what should be his prey has become a very common one in his family. Centocihuatl adores his feathered friends, and tries to help them in every way possible. Unfortunately, his birds don't share his opinions on food and nesting material, for which reason he is often delegated to watching their eggs and fledglings.
