Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

The day Revenir's egg was found was one of the darkest remembered by the villagers living in the valley nearest to the dragon colony. There were frightening tales of strange, foul-smelling black dragon eggs appearing, each marked with a sinister cross, like a gravestone. Too curious about the strange eggs, Revenir's owner took in one of the eggs and cared for the unusual hatchling which emerged. It quickly became clear that the new dragon terrified all the other dragons in the colony. They either ran, flew or dived away from Revenir, or drew back, snarling and hissing. Since Revenir matured, the vigilant Guardian Dragon, Valiturus, began to turn her back on the cave entrance each night, and instead keeps her watchful eye on the male Vampire Dragon, especially when there are unhatched eggs in the colony.
