Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It hits you with its wings if it feels threatened.

And look! It has gained some colored patterns and grown hard blade-like growths on its wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Vefeeb has a mutation which leaves her unable to grow physically past the adolescent stage. As such, she has a strong desire to prove herself and will often act aggressively if she perceives someone or something to be a threat to her. She has also learned to use her small size to her advantage and will hide when she can or use her agility to attack. She is very independent and tries not to rely on her mother, Teejid, too much for food, shelter, and help. Finally, she is very protective of her family and will do anything to keep them safe, much to the amusement of her mother.
