Stone Dragons have a tough outer covering made of a stone-like material. They eat rocks, using the minerals they contain for nourishment and to keep up their stone outer shell. They rarely move, and are the heaviest of all types of dragons. Although they have wings, indicating flight ability, no one has ever seen a stone dragon flying.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Viff is the toughest in her cave. She can not be beaten in brute strength. She knows her strength and is very gentle with her friends but will show no mercy to her enemies. When someone is foolish enough to become her enemy she will find a way to hunt them down no matter how long it takes and show them just how bad there choice was. Though she is normally slow, she can be quite fast when the time calls for it. Once a dragon was picking Treespriet because was frozen, the dragon found picking on him was never heard of after Viff found out her child was being picked on. The least extreme story says that he just got driven off the territory.
