Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Arrphathoss is a cruel dragon that enjoys nothing more than a good hunt or a good kill. He is easily offended and will immediately start a fight if something is going against his plans. Still, he is exceptionally graceful and knows many different truculent spells of Dragon Magic. His emerald eyes are mysterious, and Faeryl is not sure if his soul is really as young as his physical form.

Arrphathoss' partner is a calm white dragon called The White Minstrel. Although there seems to be no reason for a couple that different to mate, the two dragons seem to constantly be with each other. Their owner believes them to share a mutual secret.
