Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Liilion is a reckless little dragon. He loves to pounce on the tails of the grown dragons and nip at them. The older dragons tend to flick their tails hard enough to dislodge him. He likes to climb high in trees at night and watch the stars with his older sister, Liilian. The two of them can be seen most nights at the top of a tall tree, their scales giving off a brilliant glow, making the treetop shimmer.
