When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

True to form, Lhybur was born and raised in the depths of a massive lake, and has dwelt there her entire life. As a distant descendent of the "Loch Ness Monster" as some call him (Jerillian in Sea serpent legend) she is uncommon in her tenacity to bother in surface affairs. She befriended a young child once... She has always been partial to two-legs. However, the ninety short years of his life passed far too fast and as she howled her sorrow at her friend's fall into the void, Lhybur vowed to pull herself away from all human affars and dove deep into the depths of her lake. Now she is only to be seen in her most ferocious state, protecting all she cares about to the end that nothing she loves will ever be torn from her again.
