Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Agyar is the son of Tendesaa and Arachnethall, originally a moonstone dragon. That is, until a particular vampire dragon by the name of Grayscale Ashheart bit his egg, hoping for a daughter. Though his second father never did get the daughter he wished for, he still received a son. Agyar still laments on how he would have bonded so much closer to his real parents had he never been bitten. Tendesaa still recognizes her own son, but Arachnethall on the other hand thinks differently. Agyar is a very remorseful dragon, often moping and whining to Grayscale about how he will never get to glow bright under the moon with his real father, who couldn't even remember him. He wishes Greyscale to have a daughter of his own-- a non-vampiric one, that is. But most of all, he wishes he were a moonstone dragon, and that he could convince Arachnethall that yes, he truly was his son.
