Feisty and energetic, Whiptail Dragons pride themselves on their speed and agility. It is not unusual to see several whiptails racing each other. Though fragile, they can easily evade attacks with their superior speed, and often use their long tails as a weapon, giving rise to their name.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Moodtail Whiplash is ostracized by other dragons, even those of her own species. This is probably due to the fact that Moodtail is usually seen in the presence of a human, helping her steal eggs from wild dragons. It is not uncommon for the duo to sit in a particular spot for days on end, only to suddenly race off with an egg of noteworthy value. The other dragons do not appreciate Moodtail's assistance in the abductions, despite the fact that the human entrusts the eggs and hatchlings to Alpha Females to be properly cared for and raised. As a result, she is driven off by all female dragons (whether nesting or not) and forced to spend her time with the Dino herds. She doesn't seem to mind this.
