Failed attempts to experiment with magic often result in transforming dragons into these hellish creatures. They are extremely dangerous, and will mindlessly kill any living creature without regard to friend or foe.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

He really didn't want to become like this. Once a stunning Pyralspite Dragon, he was born by the coast and often spent his younger days flying far out with a few other hatchlings in search of new lands and greater riches. Every day, they returned with nothing. As he aged and matured into an adult, his stamina and strength also increased which allowed him to fly greater distances. Before he would settle down and choose a mate, he decided to gather a few lifelong friends and make one final trip across the ocean.

This was his most regretful decision. They had indeed found a strange new island, speckled with gemstones to hoard. However, it was home to a mad scientist, one that experimented and tested on dragons. This mad scientist had forcefully killed the group of dragons, only to try to revive them again. Only one was revived, however, the process had gone awry. The end result was a horrifying, undead mess of the Pyralspite Dragon it used to be.
