This hatchling appears to be... dead?

Perhaps not. It seems to be active during the night.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Asleep during the day, when night comes then Vladimir comes out to play his pranks. This little hatchling is constantly misbehaving and isn't well liked amongst the other hatchlings. He loves using his sharp teeth to bite the other baby dragons and loves to sneak up on them during the night. But like Kazanna he is bounded by the rules of their kind and when dawn comes he crawls into his little cave and sleep until the next night.
