Coastal Waverunners spend most of their time skimming the waves along the coast, snatching up their prey from the shallow waters. They have developed markings along the leading edges of their body that help disguise them as breaking waves. When they are not hunting, they enjoy playing among sand-dunes and shallow tide-pools. These dragons live in small but noisy rookeries. Some stories say Waverunners can fly for days on end without landing.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
Kahumoana! Terror of the seas!
Kahumoana! Peril of sailors!
Kahumoana! Hunter over the oceans!
Kahumoana, asleep and dreaming. Really, he's Kahumoana, the tame. Well-fed on fish caught by humans, and content to lie dreaming. Or soar over the water for no reason. Yes, He is a waverunner. He is supposed to hunt. But why bother, with all this free food
Kahumoana sits up. His lunch should be here by now. Oh well, maybe they're late.
But now they're three days late. In fact, no-on has come in that time! Where's the food Kahumoana, stomach roaring, pulls himself out of the cave. He sniffs the air. Fish! Down there! But how to get them
Kahumoana dives on them. They swim away. After hours of this cat-and-mouse, he lands, tired and hungrier. Hungry
He flies up again. There's no free food. There's only the sea.
The Keeper looks up. Kahumoana call for joy, his stomach filling.
Kahumoana! Peril of sea-dwellers!
Kahumoana! Hunter of fish!
Kahumoana! Terror of the seas!
And this was no dream.
