Shallow Water Dragons are found in tropical regions where the water is warm. They use their magic to hunt, using bubbles to capture small fish and animals. Their large, webbed feet make them excellent swimmers and they are able to move at very high speeds. Due to their bright color, these dragons are easily spotted in the lagoons where they live.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Jinliu was hatched to Whip water and Tokki, one of the dozens of children they already had. He is pretty normal in every respect (for a Shallow Water dragon, that is) except for the fact that he is ridiculously proud of his heritage. He comes from a very long (and sometimes noble) line. Jinliu is even the great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandson of The Original Midas Dorkface and The Original Shallynaar on his mother's side, so he has a right to be proud (albeit very, very distantly proud.)

He has spent years discovering his ancestry, logging hundreds of hours behind his slightly mouldy desk (couldn't get rid of the damp) to discover more connections and ties to his illustrious line. He cherishes every member of his family (especially the Thuweds from his father's side -- he nearly fainted when he found that one out).
