Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s very festively colored.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Sparklings is forever small but doesn't let that stop him. When the snow starts to fall down in a thick blanket and the other Yulebucks begin to spread the holiday joy, he sneaks out into the small human village that lies beyond the mountains. Quietly padding through the darkness, he finds a way into every house with a suffering child. To him there is nothing better than when the child wraps her arms around him and her sleepy face breaks into a smile. He loves knowing that just his presence lit up her whole world.
