And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Black Cat is MessengerDragon's unofficial guardian. She normally keeps to the shadows, observing everything with her keen emerald eyes. Though she is small, she has sharp teeth and claws, so she is quite capable of defending herself and others. Some people seem to believe that having her kind cross their path is bad luck. However, this isn't really true, unless you end up annoying her. Black Cat will only allow herself to be spotted by people she takes a liking to. She will let them come up close and stroke her smooth, scaly hide, and may even make a purring noise for them. She is quite friendly with people she knows.
