Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Christmas holly wings, or as everyone in the family calls, him, Wings, was found on Christmas night, his previous master had ignored him in need of care, and so he was given a new master while just on his last strain of life. He hatched alive miraculously, but was a sickly hatchling and took time and effort to raise, but soon enough he was taken off the emergency care after he had gotten strong enough that he had grown wings. Surely enough, the next day is when he matured into the dragon he is today, and was eventually appointed the healer of the family. He is a stern and disciplined dragon, but when the first snowflake falls, his spirits rise, and so does those of the whole family.
