Magma Dragons are capable of withstanding the intense temperatures of their element. They live in volcanic regions, their bodies coated in the red hot magma which clings to their scales. They must leave the lava fields in order to hunt, although they require surprisingly little food to sustain their lumbering mass.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Lumbering was once hung from the ceiling of Kad's clan cave in an incident that earned Xenocide—the hangdragon—a permanent imprisonment. This traumatic experience destroyed what little sanity he might have had otherwise. Some less charitable dragons wished that his telepathic ability had gone with his mind, but this was not to be so. He now slowly winds his way around the cave daily, swaying back and forth and leaving (loud) gibberish in other dragons' heads. His lumbering figure can be seen tracing the same track at least twenty hours a day. Given a few more centuries, the path he follows will be a permanent one in the stone floor.
