Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Darikias is a rather brave Black Dragon, although her adventurous nature does cause trouble sometimes. She loves to explore caverns and deep caves on Dragon Isle, and she has exceptional wit and strength.

She came to the island when she was an egg, and she hatched normal and healthy. Though, even as a hatchling, she had a knack for adventuring. She would disappear from the hatchery and not return for many hours, causing quite a panic within the hatchery staff.

Darikias is outgoing and excitable, and along with her exploring, she practices magic. She sometimes takes hatchlings with her into caves to explore, sparking worry in the community. The hatchlings are safe with her, though, as she is an ample magic user and is very good at casting spells. She's a warrior at heart, and will protect Dragon Isle and its residents. When she isn't off exploring, she can be found on the edges of the island, guarding it from potential intruders.
