Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has a large stone on its tail.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

"I'm gonna be a mighty king, so enemies beware!" is this little dragoness' favorite saying. (Despite the other dragons correcting her, telling her that technically she would be a queen, never mind the fact that she no longer ages.) She wholeheartedly believes that she'll grow up someday into a great and imposing ruler, and behaves as one. She spends her time brushing up on looking down at her 'subjects' and working on her roar. When scolded for this behavior, she slinks away muttering, "Well, when I'm king, that'll be the first thing to go."
