Feisty and energetic, Whiptail Dragons pride themselves on their speed and agility. It is not unusual to see several whiptails racing each other. Though fragile, they can easily evade attacks with their superior speed, and often use their long tails as a weapon, giving rise to their name.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Whipping Wind is an amazing flier and will race anyone who challenges her. In the hundreds of times they have raced, Saphira has only beaten her once. She loves spending time with Saphira and wishes he would pay more attention to her. She is a good fighter and is always ready to protect the cave and her human partner, but she isn't crazy about fighting and would rather spend the day soaring lazily through the sky with her adopted siblings.
