It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Violet Streamers is a sweet, level-headed dragon. His father is a Sweetling, which makes him a loving and caring dragon. He's great with hatchlings and often volunteers to take care of the eggs. Though most outsiders assume Violet to be a cheerful dragon with little street-smarts, Violet is full of common sense and new ideas. He can easily break up a fight or even out difficult relationships. Mad1022 thinks very highly of Violet Streamers and often asks him to do small favors, such as getting two dragons who are in a personal fight to work things out. Violet is always glad to do these tasks.
