Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It seems to get warmer and brighter when you are around it.

And look! It has grown a beautiful silver mane! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Knata is best described as the feeling of putting down one's quill pen for ten seconds and being unable to find it again.

One moment there, gone without a trace the next, this clever little girl slips in and out of shadowed cracks in cave walls, using her small and lean frame to wiggle her way into places she should not be. Quite the skillful thief, she has used this ability of hers to filch food and pretty gemstones and has even made herself a hidey-hole inside the wall of the cave where her guardians live, filling it with shiny objects and random trinkets she's nabbed from her elders.

She typically only emerges when bribed with food or when she gets lonely, and her guardians must keep a close and watchful eye on her when she is visible. Slippery and slender as an eel, Knata is skilled in the art of escaping in the few short seconds that nobody is watching her, and even keeps her tiny little talons trimmed so that they won't make noise as she scrabbles across stone.
